Rainy day catch-up

I only had one blog post last year. I had big ambitions but man, was there lots going on! I started a garden from an un-used, clay ridden farm field. We sold the house and moved. The kids went off to college in different states. And did I mention, I STARTED A GARDEN? LOL What a whirlwind of a year. I learned SO MUCH. And I have so much yet to learn. As I sit here on this rainy day I feel a bit overwhelmed. I am forcing myself to look back at all that was already accomplished and tryin hard not to freak out at all that is yet to learn and do. As I stated in last years blog, I do not know how to run a website. Maybe that’s why I am writing my second blog, as procrastination instead of trying to figure this website thing out. Probably. I really want you all to be able to see what it takes to have a small scale farm. This website is a tool that can allow you to share this experience with me. And that’s why I started learning how to use Instagram and Facebook Reels. To have another form of visibility. One doesn’t just start a garden. I want you to see what goes into it on a daily basis. There is so much planning and research and hard work of both the mental and physical kind! There are great successes and then there are big tears that go along with failures and setbacks. Maybe I shouldn’t use the word failures and I should call them learning experiences. Because I have had alot of those and if they were failures I wouldn’t be sharing with you on year two, right? So what has year two brought us?….Improved soil quality, better water collection and containment, more planting beds, CHICKENS, and of course bigger muscles and smaller waist size. So this rain day is a blessing. Not only because we really needed the rain but because I have been given time to reflect….to learn….to plan…..to dream…..and most importantly….TO REST.

Ok, now I have no further reason to keep putting this off. The rest of the day is for website design…..wish me luck! Wait, is that the sun I see?!?! :)
